Safe School Plan

Earthquake Preparation

Chatsworth Park has a clearly defined emergency plan in the event that there is an earthquake.  Each classroom has an emergency backpack, and we have a cargo container on the playground that has emergency supplies to supply students and staff for up to 72 hours.  In case of an earthquake, please report to the Request Gate, which is located on Topanga Canyon by the playground.  Parents will then proceed to the Reunion Gate on Hiawatha Street to await pick up.

Safe School Plan

LAUSD schools are required to comply with California Education Code Section §32286(a), which mandates the preparation of school safety plans. These plans address violence prevention, emergency preparedness, traffic safety and crisis intervention. safe-zone-1az6b8f.pngThe District developed the Model Safe School Plan as a template for school safety plans for each of the District's 1000 schools. The template standardizes safe school plans throughout the District and minimizes the time required for annual updates. The Safe School Plan is comprised of three volumes: Volume 1 - Coordinated Safe and Healthy School Plan; Volume 2 - Emergency Procedures; and Volume 3 - Intervention and Recovery.  A copy of Chatsworth Park's plan is available in the Main Office for public review.
