School Site Council/Local School Leadership

Our councils and committees are a wonderful way to get involved with our school.  There are three committees/councils at Chatsworth Park Urban Planning Magnet: English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), and Local School Leadership Council.

The English Learner Advisory Committee's (ELAC) mission is to provide an authentic parent voice through engaging in review and generating advice and comment on matters pertinent to English Learner programs, present suggestions to SSC, and to ensure that the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (“LAUSD LCAP”) reflects the input of District parents, a key stakeholder group.

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) is a shared decision-making body, composed of elected parents, community members, and school personnel. The LSLC works cooperatively to make decisions in these areas of the school program: School calendar.

The School Site Council (SSC) is made up of parents, staff, and administrators and works collaboratively to review the school plan or single plan for student achievement, establish a new budget, and work to provide counsel on matters of the school to the principal.
