Here are some recommended resources to help encourage a love of reading in our students:
- Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL): Los Angeles’s library system that serves the greater Los Angeles community.
- Sora: Reading app for students by Overdrive, a worldwide distributor of digital content for libraries & schools that can be accessed through Schoology.
- Epic!: Education subscription service, which gives millions of families and classrooms instant, unlimited access to thousands of books, videos and quizzes from leading publishers to help kids everywhere read, learn and grow.
- Destiny: What LAUSD uses in its library to check books out to students. It allows librarians and administrators to keep thorough, real-time track of a library's inventory and media assets and gives students a fun means of discovery and reading.
- Hoopla: E-resource platform that offers digital video, music, audiobooks, ebooks and comics in partnership with LAPL.
- Kanopy: Film website that partners with LAPL to bring “Thoughtful Entertainment”
- Scholastic Virtual Book Fair: Book fair hosted by Scholastic, the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, to support Chatsworth Park.
- Reading IQ App: Paid app developed by Age of Learning to help children build a strong foundation for academic success and to foster a lifelong love of learning.
