Principal Message - November 13, 2023
As I reflect on the 2022-2023 school year, our school has achieved some great successes:

- Chatsworth Park UP/CD Magnet was recognized as a Magnet Schools of America school of Merit and the number one New and Emerging Magnet School in the United States.

- Our school showed significant academic growth on the state assessment testing and as a result achieved a new score of 8 out of 10 as recognized by Great Schools (www.greatschools.org)

- PTA had an amazing fundraising year! As a result, our students are now able to enjoy new kid-friendly furniture provided to the library that better fits our students needs.

- Our 4th grade students achieved 2nd place at their first Once Upon A Dance showcase competition.

- The varsity robotics team placed 3rd in the Chatsworth Robotics League.

- A team, consisting of four Chatsworth Park UPM students participated in John Lee’s: Making Movies that Matter and were finalist! Their videos were viewed at the culmination event, which took place at California State University Northridge.
As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, we want to continue to build on those successes and strive for an even higher level of performance and achievement. One of our first achievements is the addition of two full classes of UTK students and additional staff on our campus.
A major focus for the 2023-2024 school year is attendance! The objective for the district and the school is 96% of students with 96% or higher attendance. Only through a collective effort can we achieve that goal.
There will be many opportunities to visit and support the school, so please take advantage. Only with everyone’s assistance, can Chatsworth Park UPM be the best it can be.
